Worship in Brazil
I’ve been meditating so much lately about the different cultures and the way they worship the Lord.
A few years ago, I met a pastor from Rwanda, who told me: “In Africa we worship with our entire body – we move our arms and neck and legs and shoulders and voice – and we just worship for hours and hours. The service usually have at least 2 hours just for worship.”
We are not quite there yet in Brazil, but we do experience a lot of freedom to dance, jump, express our love to Jesus, and celebrate in the Lord’s presence as the Spirit leads – even if we have to stay an extra hour after the service was suppose to end.
So if you want to see a little bit of what our worship times look like, I put together a few moments that I filmed while I was still a brazilian citizen (hehe! just kidding! I’m still brazilian – and VERY proud to be one!!)
“David and the whole house of Israel were celebrating with all their might before the Lord, with songs and with harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.” “David danced before the Lord with all his might, while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.” II Sm 6:5, 14, 15

Very Cool. If I had only learned to dance!
I think we can all take a lesson from David. I was raised in a rural town in New York state where I attended a Baptist church until I left home. I attended a church in Kentucky for awhile that had some pretty amazing worship services, not quite as free as in your video, but they were getting there
I have lived in Germany for almost 18 years now (my wife Vira is German) and find most churches tend to have very traditional and formal services. But I keep believing for change, with our God nothing is impossible!
